Lentils (Daal) are very important for vegetarian meals. In India, daal is a staple diet. Daals are rich in protein, folic acids, fibers, and some of them contain iron too.
The use of lentils is versatile. They can be used in soup preparations, snacks (veggie kebabs...), salads, as a stuffing of Indian bread (paratha/kachuri) etc. They can also be served as a main course and there is a huge range of Indian desserts made out of lentils/pulses. In this section we are going to make different lentils as a side dish of main course.
