Yellow matar also known as vatana matar is a good source of protein and minerals. This is an easy to make, low calorie, gluten-free, lactose-free, Vaishnav recipe. There are many delicacies made with yellow peas. Yellow peas are a good source of carbohydrates and fibers as well. Yellow peas are different from chickpeas! I like to make yellow matar in a simple way - without onion and garlic, and with very few spices. However you can make changes as per your family’s taste. I like to serve it with tamarind chutney, chopped coriander leaves and ginger. One can add coriander chutney as well. Try out this recipe and please do share your valuable comments.
