The word boondi has come from a Hindi word Boond means drop. Boondis are small deep fried balls of gram flour. This raita goes very well with vegetable Biryani, and also with poori and aloo tamatar ka rasa.
Method of preparation
- Soak boondi in warm water with ¼ tea spoon salt for 2 minutes.
- Beat yogurt in a glass bowl add milk, salt, black salt, mint powder and sugar.
- Squeeze the booni lightly to remove the water, now add Boondi in the yogurt and mix gently.
- Keep in the refrigerator for ½ an hour.
Garnish with red chilly powder and cumin powder at the time of serving.
Readymade boondi is are available at Indian stores. But if you want boondi can be easily made at home too.
